Los Angeles, Hollywood, a trip through California

The first thing we can say is that the stereotypes about Los Angeles are quite true. We arrived at Long Beach Airport (LGB), from Las Vegas and decided to take a taxi to our Youth Hostel in Melrose Place. First topic, traffic jams in Los Angeles,  are quite real. We arrived early in the morning, it was rush hour and the jam was monumental. The plane from Las Vegas to Los Angeles with the low cost carrier JetBlue Airways cost about $50 (bought well in advance) and the taxi through the traffic jam as it flies to the city’s second airport, cost over $ 90. If you have a driving license I recommend car hire in Las Vegas and drop it off in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles California

Melrose Place is a famous street in Los Angeles by the eponymous series Melrose Place, an alternative for young adults to Beverly Hills 90210. In any case, is a booming area in the city, with numerous boutiques, affordable and very fashionable. Besides some hotels and hostels in Melrose Place are affordable for most budgets.

What to see in Los Angeles?

Los Angeles is a city without a historic center,it has a multitude of neighborhoods and properties. We can quote the famous Beverly Hills neighborhoods of millionaires and Bell Air. The best thing you can do is hire a tour to see the highlights of Los Angeles, which you can hire from almost any hotel in Los Angeles.

Hollywood Boulevard is one of the tours that we can not miss, with its stars and signatures on the ground. If you have time worths a visit to Universal Studios in Hollywood. A visit to any major film studio is always spectacular.

Do not forget Los Angeles and the sport and the chance to see Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol live.
