Two of the best beaches in the world are Spanish

The beach of Las Catedrales in Galicia and Illetas beach in Balearic Islands, have been awarded, sixth and twelfth place respectively worldwide. They have also won awards at European level, with the beach of the Cathedrals being the second best beach in Europe and the fourth is the beach of Illetas.

This is the list of the 2013 Travellers Choice Beaches of Tripadvisor with the opinions of millions of travelers. With their votes Isola dei Beach Conigli in Lampedusa (Italy) has been rated the best beach in the world.

Other three beaches have also been honored as the best in Europe are the Playa de la Concha in San Sebastian, in eleventh place, and the Andalusian beaches of Bologna and Zahara (Cadiz), in positions 14 and 23, respectively.

Regarding the Top 10 of the best beaches in Spain, Las Catedrales Beach is positioned first, followed by Illetas beach in Formentera and Playa de la Concha, in San Sebastián.

The Andalusian beaches of Bologna and Zahara de los Atunes in Tarifa are in fourth and fifth place, sixth place for Cofete beach in Fuerteventura. These beaches are followed close by Lanzada beach in Pontevedra and Cala Bassa, Ibiza. The list ends with the beach of Es Trenc, in Mallorca, in ninth place and the beach of Las Canteras, Gran Canaria, the tenth best beach in Spain.

These awards are based on the opinions of millions of travelers from around the world. They have recognized a total of 276 beaches located in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe and USA.

    Love the post, but I would say that Zlatni rat beach on the island of Brac, Croatia definitely desrves to be in at least top 5 beaches in Europe.
